i concede that the Swiss make the best milk chocolate in the world. i still hold out the belief that Belgium chocolate is the overall most amazing, but that comment might get me booted from the country. From what i can tell after growing up in a dairy region of new york state, i am guessing the reason is the milk-fat quality and unique flavors that the various quality of herbs, flowers and grass that the cows get to ingest as part of their diet. It is all natural.
Another part of the equation might be Swiss cows are the happiest cows on the planet because they get pasture and graze up in the mountains and look at amazing panorama views of the mountains?
I also just had a thought, that one of the most amazing things in Switzerland is to go wandering for a walk and come upon a herd of grazing cows all with their cowbells ringing. it is one of the more interesting, melodic, and beautiful sounds on the planet.
maybe it is really only the cow bells that help produce the great dairy that goes into the amazing Swiss "milk" chocolate?
